Summary
In Chapter 24, the doctor tells Lily he would like to do a CT to determine if she has a concussion, but he cannot because she is pregnant. Alone, Lily tells Atlas she was not aware she was pregnant. He holds her as she cries. Lily is angry with herself because she has let herself become her mother. Atlas takes Lily to his house. She is impressed by the life he has made for himself. After Lily showers, she cries herself to sleep.
In Chapter 25, the next morning, Atlas tells Lily he has to go to work. He begs her to stay at his house. He writes down the alarm code, his number at work, and at the bottom writes: “Just keep swimming, Lily” (279).
