Summary
In Chapter 3, six months later, Lily shows her mother the building she has bought to house her florist shop. About that time, a woman who appears to be wealthy walks into the store. She asks Lily if she is hiring. She admits she does not need the money, just wants something to do.
As Lily is organizing junk left behind in the store, she falls and hurts her ankle. Allysa calls her husband, Marshall, for help. Marshall arrives in about ten minutes with Allysa’s brother, who turns out to be Ryle. Lily is relieved when Ryle tells her that her ankle is not broken. She is also proud to tell Ryle she has bought the building to open her own florist shop.
In Chapter 4, while Lily is recuperating from her sprained ankle, she decides to finish reading her journals.
