Summary

In Chapter 33, as the centipede rises out of the ground, Nilanjana rushes off to her car to prepare her pesticide bomb while Stephanie, Jamillah, and even Luisa kneel in prayer. Stephanie tells her there is no need, they just have to finish performing the ritual. She puts her fox mask back on and starts jumping up and down and shouting at the creature. She quickly draws its attention as it turns and heads straight for her. Realizing the centipede intends to eat her, Stephanie becomes paralyzed with fear. Mark attempts to distract the creature with his machine, however it does not work until Jamillah drills air holes in it for ventilation.
