Summary
Chapter 115 is titled November 5, 1980.” Ronald Reagan wins the presidential election and Mohsen predicts the hostages will be freed immediately, but that does not happen.
Chapter 116 is titled “December 19, 1980.” The kidnappers demand billions to release the hostages and Zomorod wonders if the situation will ever be resolved.
Chapter 117 is titled “My Favorite Hostage, Part II.” Zomorod and her parents watch as Kathryn Koob appears on television again. She asks her family to sing a Christmas son with her and, in a wavering voice, sings Away in a Manger. Zomorod and Nastaran cry. Mohsen swears and turns off the television. They each go to separate rooms.
Chapter 118 is titled “The French Boy.” Zomorod, Carolyn, Rachel, and Howie go to see a love story at the movies. They are all talking about being in love after the movie and the girls tease Zomorod about Brock.
