Chapters 8-11 Summary
Shannon has not told her parents about her accident, instead telling them she is out of the country for several months on a modeling job. Shannon does not want the drama that would come with telling her parents what has happened to her, a drama she knows would be nothing like the drama that took place when her brother. Shane was fifteen when he was burned by an exploding can of hairspray. Shane was always the favorite child until he contracted a sexually-transmitted throat infection at sixteen.
Shannon, Brandy, and Seth arrive in Seattle and go directly to the Space Needle. At the top, Brandy gives everyone postcards and tells them to write their deepest, darkest secrets on them. Seth writes a bunch of stuff about how television is a metaphor for life, while Shannon writes that she loves Seth so...
