Attending private school is both different for Grace, and in many ways the same. The seniors are a tight knit group who have known each other for years, and spend a great deal of time comparing what they have vs. what they are getting. They seem to introduce themselves in that manner as a way to assure themselves that Grace knows just how important they are. None of it really impresses her. For the most part, their reception of Grace is ice cold and when she talks to her mother about it afterward, Jackie Lee accuses her of sounding like a snob herself.
