Relationships

One of the primary themes running through "Into the Cold Fire" is relationships. The novel reveals that even the individuals that make up a family have different relationships among the family members. For example, Collin and Serena have a very close relationship with each other. Collin and Serena, however, don't seem to have a close relationship with their father.

Friendship is another type of relationship the novel tackles. It seems as if Serena, Jimena, Catty and Vanessa are best friends. Rather than form friendships on their mutual like for each other, it is their status as Daughters of the Moon that joins the girls together in friendship. It also seems as if Morgan tries to form a superficial friendship with Serena. Primarily, Morgan does this because she likes Serena's brother, Collin.
