Summary
Into The Beautiful North tells the story of Nayeli, a teenage girl living in a small village in Mexico who travels illegally into the United States alongside a group of her friends on a mission to bring Mexican men back to their village to combat criminals.
Part 1 is called “Sur” meaning “South”. Chapter 1 tells a brief history of the village Tres Camarones, in Mexico. After the peso dropped in value, many of the men in the village left to look for work in the United States. In the present day, a drug dealer and a crooked cop travel to Tres Camarones to sell drugs to some American surfers. They go into a taco shop.
In Chapter 2, Nayeli goes to work at the taco shop in Tres Camarones, owned by her friend Tacho. Her aunt Irma is running for mayor and Nayeli also works...
