Summary

In Part 3, Chapter 14, Ivan drives to Kildare to stay at his dad’s house with Alexei. On the way, he thinks about the past two days with Margaret. They spent time with Alexei and talked about meeting up in Dublin for Ivan’s chess match. Ivan liked the idea of having her there.

Ivan arrives at the house with a pizza and the dog, surprised to see a light on inside. The house is cleaner than when he was last there, too. He calls out and an attractive girl his age emerges. She explains that she is Naomi and mentions her relationship with Peter. They eat pizza and Ivan admits that Peter never mentioned her.
