Summary

In Part 2, Chapter 9, after Naomi’s conviction and arrest, Peter messages Sylvia about the situation. She is glad to hear Naomi is staying with him and agrees to meet up later that week.

After “a hearing on Thursday morning,” Peter has lunch with his friend and colleague Gary and discusses the case (207). They win but Peter barely gets recognition. Later, he has dinner with Ivan. After Ivan storms out, Peter returns home to Naomi. Peter does not go into details, but admits the dinner went poorly. When he visits Sylvia the next day, he expects her to ask about the dinner. On the way, he remembers Ivan's insensitivity after Sylvia's accident and feels frustrated. However, he also knows that Sylvia and Ivan still talk.
