Beatrice Prior
Beatrice “Tris” Prior is the main character in Veronica Roth’s “Insurgent.” Tris is a 16-year-old girl who has seen more than her fair share of death and destruction. Tris and her brother Caleb were born into the Abnegation faction where they lived until they chose their own faction at age sixteen. At testing, it was learned that Tris was Divergent, meaning that she had an aptitude for more than one faction. This makes Tris hard to control and dangerous as she is not always ruled by simulations. Tris develops a relationship with Tobias, another Divergent.
