Stagecoach Pass
Stagecoach Pass is the primary setting of the novel, and is where Aven's dad found a job, which was the impetus of their move to Arizona. Aven feels the park is cheesy and poorly managed, and makes suggestions to her parents about how to run the place together.
The storage shed behind the theme park is where Aven discovers the mystery of her childhood history, and the place where she finds resolution to her questions about herself. Aven was born in this same town to a single mother who died shortly after giving birth. Her mother shared her name, and operated Stagecoach Pass with Aven's grandmother, Josephine. Josephine later reveals to her that she brought her family to the theme park on purpose, because she wanted to make sure that her granddaughter was living with a good family.
