Summary
In Chapter 16, Noriko’s aunt found her a husband. He was not wealthy but had a college education, a good family, and was attractive. He was also willing to support Noriko’s mother. Noriko’s father provided a good dowry. Noriko, however, would run away with another man in a few years.
Mitsuki learned the truth about her parents’ marriage only after she was in college. At this time, her mother requested a copy of the family registry and was surprised that it did not show that she or their father had been married previously. This was significant because the divorce would have made it more difficult for Natsuki and Mitsuki to get married.
