Summary

In Chapter 1, younger sister Mitsuki Katsura Hirayama told her older sister, Natsuki Katsura Shimazaki, that they would probably inherit 35 million yen each, about 350,000 American dollars, from their mother, Noriko Katsura, who had just died. The girls had to sell the family’s property in Chitose Funabashi in order to pay for her mother to stay in an upscale nursing facility named Golden Years. The facility kept 10 million yen even though their mother had only had a room there for eight months and had been in the hospital with pneumonia three and a half of those months. Mitsuki remembered how much she had spent on things like French lace curtains for the room, hoping to make her mother’s stay there more comfortable and thought she had been an idiot.
