Summary
Weeks pass while Dani waits for a response from Ben about whether or not they will meet. She keeps researching both artificial insemination and Ben himself on the Internet, learning that she also has two half-brothers and a half-sister: the children he has with his wife Pilar. Ben finally responds that, though he understands and empathizes with her desire to meet, he is not interested in doing so and has also decided against having genetic testing. He is happy that she seems to have a happy and successful life, and wishes her nothing but the best, but he does not intend to communicate with her any further.
