Summary

In Chapter 9, celestial Maribelle hides with her companions at Nova Grace Elementary, a school converted to a Spell Walker safe haven. Dedicated to proving her deceased parents' positive legacy, she has difficulty staying out of trouble. She is determined to bring the wicked Luna Marnette and her band of Blood Casters down for good. She obsessively watches videos of the Blackout during which her family died. A woman's figure appears then disappears. Maribelle blames her for the event, determined to discover her identity. Her boyfriend, Atlas, and friend, Wesley, enter, worrying about her mental health. Iris, their leader, enters. In the years since their childhood, the two have been in competition. Maribelle, Iris, and her girlfriend, Eva, discuss bringing Emil to the school.
