Summary
While he works to deepen his romantic relationship with Adeleine, Thomas also begins spending more time with Edith. He decides to bring his paints and canvases to Edith’s apartment and paint with her. Meanwhile, Thomas begins coaxing Adeleine into playing guitar for him. She is initially guarded, then explains that she writes songs for all the objects in her apartment and allows Thomas to pick one.
One night, the various tenants awaken to the sound of Edith crying in the stairwell. She insists that she does not want to leave the building, and they comfort her, telling her things they love about her at Paulie’s prompting.
Edward begins shooting home video of Paulie as he spends more and more time with him, then editing the videos into cohesive narratives later. Reluctantly at first, Edward begins taking Paulie to the comedy clubs...
