Pages 45-82 Summary
Keir looks back on end-of year party for the football team. At one point they vandalized a statue of Paul Revere. At the time, they saw it as fun and clever. They wanted to better highlight Revere's sidekick, Dawes, who never gets credit. But the next day, it is clear that the group broke the statue of Dawes as well. What seemed like a good time in the moment did not carry the same tone in the clear light of day. The people in town were not happy, and Keir wonders how they got so rough so quickly.
