Summary
The action from the previous scene is continuous, moving into this scene which is titled “Full Company Meeting: The Provincetown Playhouse” and which takes place in English. Almost the full troupe is there as Lemml holds a stack of new scripts. The play’s producer, Harry Weinberger, reveals his plans for a new production on Broadway. Dorothee rushes in and angrily says she will not appear in this production because the rain scene has been cut.
As the members of the troupe scramble to get their hands on the new script, Weinberger says that even though every performance of “…Vengeance” is sold out, the company also receives hate mail every day.
