Purple Cottage

Ana lives in the Purple Cottage deep in the woods with her mother for the first eighteen years of her life. Purple Cottage has a library where Ana reads and listens to music.

Sam's Cabin

After Sam rescues Ana from drowning in the river, he takes her to his cabin in the woods where she recovers in advance of their journey to the city of Heart.

Great White Wall

When Sam and Ana arrive at Heart, Ana is shocked by the tall white wall that expands on either side as far as the eye can see. The wall was erected to protect the people of Heart.

Councilhouse

Sam and Ana have to appear before the Council when they arrive in Heart. Since no "new souls" can be citizens, the Council requires Sam to be Ana's guardian while she is in the city.
