Summary

In Chapter 4, Simone Cameron, Katy’s dance teacher at the Cameron Dance Academy, told Rob and Cassie that when Katy had missed her class, she assumed that Katy had been sick again. She explained that when Katy was nine she started having severe bouts of vomiting and diarrhea. She was hospitalized and exploratory surgery done, but no definitive cause was discovered. Simone remembered that when Katy auditioned for the Royal Ballet School, Katy told Simone that she was not going to be sick anymore. To Simone’s surprise, Katy was not sick anymore, a coincidence Simone could not explain. Simone said that Katy was “sérieuse” (88) using the French word to portray Katy as being particularly dedicated to dancing.
