Leonard Ellis
Leonard Ellis is a resident of British Columbia who runs a bear-viewing tour company but who formerly was a famed bear hunter in North America. After conservationists bought licenses to hunt off of him and slowly prevented his making a living by killing the animal with tourists, Ellis turned to bear-viewing as his livelihood, but with bitterness and a great deal of resentment at the change.
While visiting Ellis, Zada notes how adept the man is at navigating the natural landscape he lives in and how admired he is by many living in the area for his knowledge of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and forests, despite the fact that not many condone his former bear hunting practice.
