Bella Bella

Bella Bella is a Heiltsuk Nation town in British Columbia, located on Campbell Island. It is the first stop for Zada on his trip to the province to learn all about the Sasquatch and its mysterious sightings. Zada describes Bella Bella as being a small town with a very strong sense of community, especially since the town is not often visited by foreigners such as himself. Since he stays at Alvina's bed-and-breakfast while in town, his landlady's good reputation and large network aid him in fostering good relationships with local people as he asks often uncomfortable questions about their beliefs in the Sasquatch. He is mainly received with open arms, though some in Bella Bella are suspicious of his incessant note-taking and worry that he will stereotype Indigenous peoples in his writing.
