Summary
Part I of In the Valleys of the Noble Beyond opens with Chapter 1: “The Beckoning,” in which author John Zada describes trudging through a temperate rainforest with his guide, Clark, as Clark describes the spot where he first saw ‘it,’ a creature as yet unnamed. The pair hear animalistic sounds which prompt them to flee the area in the rain. Zada had arrived to the town of Bella Coola in British Columbia days prior in order to meet with Clark and search for the Sasquatch – the half-ape, half-human creature believed by some to live in North American forests. Clark claims he saw a Sasquatch when out with his cousin. Zada says he discovered, just prior to meeting Clark, that the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia and towns like Bella Coola and Bella Bella, on Campbell Island...
