Summary
Chapter 16 is titled “A Pretty Smile.” Bobi and James rented a house, James began working briefly at sawmills, and Bobi began her senior year at high school. They had one car that Bobi's mother and Frank bought on her 16th birthday. They gave her the choice of a car or braces and she chose the care, noting that over the following years she frequently regretted that.
