Summary
The opening page of this section shows Neil, Linda, Little Neil, and Maggie at St. Peter's-by-the-Sea on Easter of 1992. Neil and Linda met in 1984 in Oxford, Mississippi. From the beginning, Linda's family accepted Neil. Her grandfather invested money with Neil's newspaper, then hired a lawyer to defend him. He never asked for the money back. He kidded with Neil, asking if the judge could be bought. Though he was not the kind of man to do such a thing, he was showing his support for Neil. When Linda arrived for the first visit to Carville, a guard said her dress was too revealing and that she would not be allowed in if she dressed that way in the future.
