Summary
Evelyn: Guatemala, 2008. One Easter Sunday, Evelyn and Andres were attacked in their home by members of Gregorio’s gang, taking further revenge for his betrayal. Andres was killed, but Evelyn survived, with the help of Father Benito and a female doctor. As she recovered from her physical injuries, Evelyn remained unable to speak, apparently traumatized into silence. Her grandmother took her to see a female shaman, Felicita, who performed a ritual that included some powerful herbs that, eventually, led Evelyn through powerful visions of her brothers, healthy and safe, and also of a female jaguar. When she emerged from her visions, Evelyn was somewhat recovered, although Felicita warned her that there are more difficulties ahead.
