The Clearing

This is a place near Stoneridge where youngsters often gather during the 1970s, especially on weekends. The site is believed to be haunted, and some say the wind is the sound of a man who was hanged there decades earlier. The clearing is devoid of trees or shrubs, though no one is keeping the growth at bay. Some believe the dead man is responsible; but, it is more likely that a mining company deposited toxic waste there that kills all the plants for many years.
