Summary

In Chapter16, Sam calls Tracy with news that a local police officer asked what Tracy was doing. Sam told the officer that Tracy was asking for information about the upcoming parade. Tracy asks about the clearing and Sam reveals that teens partied there until police put a stop to it. Tracy thanks him and Sam says he will be interested in what Tracy discovers. Tracy stops at the river where Kimi's body was found. Police Chief Lionel Devoe arrives and is clearly angry, saying that Tracy should have come by to talk to him, considering he is in charge in town. Tracy knows that Jenny already told Lionel she was in town, and why. Lionel asks why she is looking into Kimi's death. When Tracy mentions the file, Lionel is clearly interested.
