Summary

In Chapter 5, Kins and Faz are at the home of Emily Rodriguez, one of Angela Collins' neighbors. Emily heard the shot but thought it was a car backfiring. Kins prompts her to think about what she was doing when she hear the sound, and comes to the conclusion that the gunshot happened as the 5:18 bus stopped near her house. This raises questions because Angela did not call 911 until more than 20 minutes later. Kins and Faz are shocked when they are recalled to the office because Angela wants to give a statement. Atticus is with her and warns that he reserves the right to advise Angela not to answer specific questions.
