Chapter 45

Jacky, Clarissa and Dolley assess the weather to see if they can make a break for it, but the weather turns bad. Clarissa has been getting teased by the other girls and is miffed at Jacky for it. Jacky continues her story of how she found the baby, Jesse, and how he was allowed to stay with the gang.

Chapter 46

Rebecca sits next to Jacky and demands to know how babies are conceived and born. Jacky tells her and the rest of the girls what they want to know. She had been told this information a couple of years earlier and decides to retell the information in the same way she was told.
