Summary

In Chapter 19, because the soldier who ran up to Yeonmi and the others was shouting in a language Yeonmi had never heard before she assumed he was Mongolian and that they had been rescued. The guard could not help but laugh at the way Yeonmi was jumping up and down. However, the soldiers put them in a car and said they were going back to China. The members of the group cried, jumped from the vehicle, prayed, and threatened to kill themselves. The soldiers finally took them to a military base where they were all strip-searched. They stayed on the base for a week before they were moved to a different base.
