Importance: In this quote Dannie describes the powerful feeling she feels in the Dumbo loft with Aaron in her premonition. This feeling prevents her from leaving, and manifests in her passionate intimacy with Aaron. Dannie has never experienced such a strong emotion before, and believes it to be love for Aaron. Dannie thinks about this feeling throughout the rest of the novel, continually misunderstanding it as love. This quote creates the expectation Dannie and Aaron will fall in love and have a great romance later in the novel, which Serle subverts.
