Summary
Chapter 11. The camp’s food supply has dried up because the Board of Supervisors in Torgas has announced they have voted to feed the strikers. Dick comes to get a letter signed by the strike chairman saying they are not getting any food so he can show it to sympathizers and try to reverse the damage.
When Jim, Mac, and Burton go to see Al, Mac is dismayed to find the men who are supposed to be guarding the house have left their posts and are smoking cigarettes in the barn. Anderson is sullen, and Al scolds his father for berating Mac about the destruction of the diner and asks if Mac thinks he could get into the Party.
