Chapter 79-84, Conner to Vanessa Summary

In Chapter 79, Conner goes home for the weekend, and reflects on his house being more like a hotel than a home. His mother lays down regulations, from no cell phone use to banning his medications. Conner discovers that Emily has moved out of the neighborhood at the insistence of Conner's parents. Conner is infuriated, and sad.

In Chapter 80, orientation for the wilderness challenge commences. Sean, a camp counselor, explains that water will be limited, food will be in MRE packages, and they'll stink before the week is over. Raven, another counselor, is the strongest woman Tony has ever seen. Raven explains that everything physical, from hunger to thirst, originates in the brain as something mental. Sean and Raven leave behind some manuals and school work about the coming challenge.
