Chapter 17 Summary

After finding the blue health drink in Jerry's dressing room, Eve radios for Peabody to meet her outside Justin Young's apartment. Despite their obvious and public attempt to show a rift, Eve believes that once Jerry is released she will go directly to Justin's apartment. Roarke has accompanied Eve to the stakeout, as they went directly from the fashion show to the apartment complex. Eve is surprised when Casto is there as well, but he and Peabody were together when the call came in. Because he is interested in getting his captain's bars, Casto refuses to be left behind on anything. This encounter is the first time Roarke and Casto meet, and even though Eve has agreed to marry him, Roarke is fiercely jealous.
