Chapter 7 Summary
There is simply too much evidence against Mavis. The warrant for her arrest has been drawn and Eve knows that she is the one who must arrest her. Roarke is there and comforts her, promising to help her find some evidence that will clear their friend. He also has secured the best criminal defense team in the country. Eve is very moved by his gesture. He is not close to Mavis, but because Eve believes in Mavis's innocence, so does Roarke. At first Mavis thinks that Eve is simply filling her in on the case until Eve reveals that Leonardo has confessed to the killing. Mavis vehemently denies Leonardo's ability to kill Pandora and Eve agrees that the evidence does not support his claim, that the evidence still points to Mavis alone. Eve asks Mavis to trust her. Mavis still does not understand...
