Austin Channing Brown
Brown is an author, public speaker, and diversity initiative coordinator whose work focuses on Black identity and the Christian faith. In I'm Still Here, Brown narrates her childhood and teenage years in Ohio, during which she attended predominantly white schools but experienced a personal awakening centered around her racial identity when her mother moved to a majority-Black neighborhood and she began attending a Black church with her father and stepmother. The latter was particularly significant, as it represented the beginning of Brown's serious commitment to Christianity, which has served as a significant part of her life ever since. After high school, Brown attended North Park University in Chicago.
