Cell Phone
The cell phone is a symbol of connection. Lena uses her phone to connect with Black, but when hers dies she must rely on Campbell's to track him down. Unexpectedly, the connection that forms as a result of the phone is one between Campbell and Lena, who end the novel by texting one another for the first time through their fully charged phones.
