Summary

On page 41, Ezra writes an email after he is cleared to be a pilot. He is excited, but says he misses Kady. The note says this is Ezra's last writing before the Copernicus Incident, but he never sent it.

The next document on page 42 is Ezra's official account of that incident. The sender struck out all that was originally classified. Ezra describes fire in space and how he is too new to be writing this. Then, he explains how he and his fighter group were running drills just two weeks after his clearance. After a long description of both ships and conversation with his team, Ezra says the AI AIDAN called a code red and demanded that Major Hawking arm the missiles. Prophet tried to call General Torrence for confirmation, but AIDAN fired a nuclear missile first, destroying the Copernicus. Then, AIDAN incessantly...
