Chapters 7 and 8 Summary

In chapter seven, it's Saturday morning and Carley's parents arrive. They have books and tapes and her father says the doctors believe Carley will be released by early in the week. `Her mother says she's changed some displays at the book store for the upcoming Valentine's Day season. Carley hates Valentine's Day, saying only the pretty, popular girls get gifts and cards. Her parents leave later that day and Kyle arrives, feeling his way along the way and revealing that he's beginning to get around on his own. He apologizes for his anger the previous evening and Carley assures him she hadn't taken it as a personal attack. Carley then finds herself rambling about nothing in an attempt to cover how flustered she feels because of Kyle's attention.
