Chapters 3 an 4 Summary

In chapter three, Carley scrambles to grab her crutches. She explains that she couldn't sleep and heads off to bed. As she's leaving, Kyle calls out to her, asking if she'll come back the following morning. Carley is delighted at the invitation. The next morning, Reba asks for details about Kyle and is sympathetic when she learns of the accident that brought him to the hospital. Carley, answering Reba's questions, says Kyle is cute, nice, and that she likes him. Carley agrees to take Reba to meet Kyle and they go to his room together.

Kyle is patiently flipping through the channels on television. He pauses at each channel, listens for a moment, then goes on to the next. Kyle is friendly to Reba as well. During their conversation, he reveals that he's learning there are sounds he never noticed until...
