Summary

Pages 133 – 136 describe Lula’s unsuccessful attempts to cook turkey when Lorenzo was a child. Pages 137 – 140 record her many departures, with Lorenzo remembering when Dad stopped taking her to the airport, and when she told him she did not love Dad anymore.

On page 141, Lorenzo met Monica and they went for a drive. Monica told Lorenzo about her childhood, then they pulled over to sit in a meadow, where they fell asleep. On page 145 Anselmi phoned, which woke them up. Monica hurried them to a hotel on Anselmi’s instructions, where they searched for a lost ring belonging to one of his clients. Fed up of the constant phone calls, Lorenzo snatched Monica’s phone and turned it off. Monica was scared of angering Anselmi so she rang him back, but ended up smashing her phone in frustration and bursting into tears. On page...
