Summary

In Chapter 6, Ellie waits for her sister Anne to call her back, desperate for her to approve of Miah. She worries Anne's sentiments regarding Miah mean that her feelings are invalid. Walking to school, she holds her Star of David necklace in her mouth to calm herself down.

In Chapter 7, Ellie sits in history class and watches the rain out the window. She thinks about how everyone is always leaving her. Miah's entrance into the classroom interrupt her thoughts.
