Summary
Oliver and Colbourne wander to the lake in “Prologue.” Colbourne says he has all day to hear the full story. Oliver continues.
In “Scene 1,” Alexander argues that they should not attempt to save Richard. After Oliver and Meredith left the party, Richard threw Wren across the yard, nearly killing her. Alexander insists they are all secretly relieved. The group resolves to tell the police everything was fine with Richard and that this must be an accident. Oliver volunteers to go into the lake to check Richard’s pulse.
In “Scene 2,” Oliver gives his statement to Colbourne in front of Holinshend, Gwendolyn, and Frederick. As arranged, he only lies about sleeping with Meredith and Richard’s recent behavior.
