Chapter 7 Summary

Madison arrives at the playground and Jack tells Tris who Madison is. As they walk back to the library so Tris's clothes can dry and he can show Madison how he can climb the tree, Madison and Jack talk about how if Cheryl is behind their father's death then it's a murder, not an accident.

Sitting in Angus's car in the McDonald's drive-through, Smithy starts to question what she's doing with this total stranger. As she gets out of the BMW to go inside the McDonald's to use the bathroom, she notices the TV van behind them in line. She walks in the McDonald's and turns her coat inside out. She uses a group of high school students as camouflage to leave the McDonald's without Angus noticing her.
