Chapters 4-6 Summary
In Chapter 4, Lucy is furniture shopping with her dad, Doug, and Mara. Lucy admits that she doesn't care for furniture shopping but, when she said this last weekend, her father had a talk with her to let her know that her saying this hurt Mara's feelings and that he hopes she would reconsider going the next weekend. Lucy feels upset that her room in the basement remains unfurnished, as Mara has supposedly been unable to find the right pieces, despite finding pieces to refurnish the rest of the house. Lucy knows that her dad will not help her on this subject because when she mentioned this to him, he became stern and upset with what Lucy was implying about Mara.
