Summary

In Chapter 34, Autumn gets home from school on a hot September day. She finds a brochure from Springfield advertising their creative writing problem. Mom tells her she is attending Finny’s soccer game since Aunt Angelina cannot make it. She suggests Autumn come. Autumn grudgingly consents.

At the soccer game, Autumn looks at the brochure. She feels determined to be a writer and recalls Finny’s opinion about teaching being too normal for her. As she watches Finny play, she feels certain she is in love with him.

In Chapter 35, Autumn jumps in leaves and thinks of Finny’s love of fall. She is killing time before a Family Dinner with her parents. It is their new routine to go out to dinner after they have marriage counselling.
