Summary

In Chapter 18, Autumn has Honors English with Jamie, Sasha, Finny, and Sylvie. She develops a habit of sitting in the teacher’s—Mr. Laughegan’s—desk before class and pilfering through whatever book he is reading. One day, Mr. Laughegan asks Autumn if she writes. He advises her to take his creative writing class when she is a senior.

Jamie brings Autumn three red roses at school on their one year-anniversary. He takes her out for dinner that Friday and they make out on her couch afterwards. Her present is a bracelet with two charms: one of a turtle and the other of a heart with the date they met engraved on it.
