James Michener, the narrator, is a talented travel writer that has an impressive way of showcasing the places he has visited. He had a strong desire to learn about Spain and he took his travel strategy and applied it to the wonderful place. He first starts out in a random place where he talks to anyone that will talk to him and answer his questions.
